Biography 

13 December 1986
Born in Maidstone, Kent to a musical family which included pianists, singers, guitarists, tenor horn and trombone players, oboists and e flat bass players.

1991-1998
Attended Sandling Primary School and began piano and recorder lessons. Sang Kumbaya for Mrs Francis! First musical experiences, singing at the Salvation Army in Chatham (Grandfather was songster leader at Birmingham Citadel for 30 years.)

1998-2005
Attended Oakwood Park Grammar School and began oboe lessons with Sue Purton. Joined Maidstone Youth Music Society and Kent Music Academy (director Adrian Goss) in 2003. Successfully auditioned for the Kent Youth Choirs and was subsequently conducted by Bob Chilcott. Gained a grade 8 distinction on oboe and played for the Kent Youth Chamber Orchestra.

First conducting experience directing Go Down Moses at school and an arrangement of Songs of the Morning by Eric Ball with the Maidstone Youth Music Society Concert Band.
